At SouthSouth Beach Languages, our mission is to improve the language skills of each student by providing exceptional programs, instructors and activities within a unique, immersion environment.
South Beach Languages was established in 2002 by English teachers and is locally owned and operated.
We teach 'American' English & 'Latin American' Spanish.
Our teachers and staff are very professional, friendly and accessible to students.
We can help you find the right place to stay and best activities while you are in Miami.
Our center is a charming 'protected' Art Deco building, which has been featured on CSI Miami, El Clon, and Transporter 2.
Where is the school?
227 9th Street, between Washington Avenue & Collins Avenue in South Beach, Miami Beach.
When do classes start?
Every Monday.
When are the office hours?
Mondays to Thursdays 9am-6pm. Fridays 9am-1pm.
Who are the teachers?
Dynamic, experienced, native-speakers. We understand that your teacher is the most important element of your learning experience, so we recruit the best language teachers available.
What is covered in the classes?
Classes are a mix of conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing & pronunciation.
Are there quizzes/tests?
Quizzes are given periodically. Tests are given at the end of each level.
How long is each level?
6-12 weeks (depending on program).
Are there certificates?
Yes, certificates are given on the final day of class.
How many levels?
6, plus additional courses such as TOEFL and Business English.
How do I know my level?
Verbal & written placement tests will be given the first day.
Beginners start at the first level.
High Beginners know the basics (1-2 years previous study).
Intermediates can follow conversation.
Advanced students are proficient with grammar and conversation.
What are the ages/nationalities of the students?
All ages and many nationalities representing North America, South American, Europe & Asia.
How do I register?
On our website using paypal, over the phone or in our center (credit card card, check or cash accepted).
Are there registration fees or other extra costs?
South Beach Languages only charges a one-time registration 'fee' for processing the I-20 form for International English students. No registration fees for local English or Spanish students.
Where do I park my car?
Free street parking weekdays, west of Washington Avenue (decals needed only at night) OR public garage on 7th Street (between Washington & Collins).
Where do I park my bike?
Bring it inside the school.
Can I bring my computer?
Yes, free wireless. Free use of computers for students. Free coffee & snacks.
What is the refund policy?
A full refund is given until the first day of class. After class starts, class credit is given, good for 1 year.

1) "I'm not good with languages"
Yes you are! Have a positive attitude. There's no 'gene' for language learning.
2) "I'm too old to learn a language"
No you're not! That's a self-fulfilling prophecy. We've taught students from 3 to 84.
3) "I speak English. Why do I need other languages?"
